Heritage Train

History and Heritage under Prairie Skies - come for a leisurely ride through the open prairies with a guide giving local historical facts.  Tour leaves Ogema Train Station and goes to Horizon, Sask. where you will receive an exclusive tour of a 1922 Federal Grain Elevator and then return to the Ogema Train Station.
Duration: 2½ hours

Morning Robbery Train

The train will depart Ogema and head east to the Village of Pangman. When you arrive, there will be a Farmer's Market that bring goods like fresh vegetables, baked goods and homemade crafts and much more.  During your journey the train will be robbed by the local outlaws.  All money stolen during the robbery will go to STARS Air Ambulance and Juvenile Diabetes.

Ride 'em cowboy!  Train Robberies were more common in the past than today. Bandits would blow open the safe on the train and if they weren't satisfied with the loot, they would hold the unarmed passengers at gunpoint  and force them to hand over any valuables they were carrying, usually in the form of jewelry or currency.  On the robberies on our train, all money stolen during the robbery will be donated to charity - STARS Air Ambulance and Juvenile Diabetes.

Come and experience the yester year of pioneer travel and way of life. Step back in time with a beautiful train ride across the prairies to our destination Horizon. Guests are invited to wear period dress themselves to get the full Settler experience! The pioneer meal consists of BBQ Beef, Home Style Baked Beans, Apple Cider Coleslaw, Raw Veggies and Dip, Pickled Beets, Cowboy Biscuits, Pies, (Apple, Raisin, Pumpkin and Ice Cream and one non-alcoholic beverage, all locally provided by Candy's Catering.

This tour includes a fabulous pitchfork fondue supper featuring a 12 oz rib eye Canadian AAA steak fondued to your liking, baby roasted potatoes, homemade "from scratch" baked beans with real smoked ham (Merv's secret recipe and always a patron favourite!), fresh coleslaw mixed at site, fresh dinner buns, ice cold watermelon and a non-alcoholic beverage, museum entry, and (of course) the train trip to Horizon and back. Images of "The Roaring '20' s" include Prohibition and the smuggling of illegal alcohol into the United States by notorious gangsters like AI Capone. Designed to be a 1920's interactive history lesson, passengers are encouraged to come dressed in period costume. The train will include a Bonnie and Clyde style Robbery.
The entertainment during the meal will be honky-tonk and Dixie-land jazz like Louie Armstrong, the music that provided the soundtrack to the era.

An all day trip with a look at Red Coat Road and Rail from Ogema to Willows Dam.  There are 3 meals and light snacks included with this ticket. Begin with a Continental Breakfast with fruit, muffins and coffee, Boxed Lunches and concluding with a sit down meal at Horizon Community Center.  Snacks are included. Picture taking opportunities including a tressel crossing on Highway 13 to  finishing with a tour of the 1922 wooden elevator in Horizon. This trip is 9 hours returning to Ogema Train Station approximately at 7 pm.
